The Lady Varnishes Pt. 1

ETSY is seriously bursting with amazing freelance nail polishes. I don't remember what I was searching when I came across The Lady Varnishes on ETSY. What I found intriguing about her polishes, and the reason why I continued perusing her stuff, is that she themes her polishes off of shows, movies, and literature. What especially caught my eye was the fact that she had a collection solely dedicated to my favorite childhood movie "Labyrinth." I still have a Ludo doll in my bedroom and one of the door knockers! She also has options to add scent to your nail polish. Seriously! You can leave out the scent, but I opted to have some in there. It's fun, although it does appear odd, to sit at your desk and sniff your nails. Lastly, each polish had a cute little charm adorned with swarovski crystals, that match the polish. It's a cute little touch that I love.

Recently she released some polishes that spoke to me, so I purchsed a few of them.

I chose to scent this polish with jasmine. The polish itself is a little more of a dark pinky-purple than I had anticipated, but really, it's pretty either way. It is a jelly polish that has copper shimmer glitter and shredded pink glitter in it. My art instructor actually commented on my nails during class. I find this polish to give your hands a more delicate look, which I like for my small hands.

I got the scent bergamot. I LOVE earl grey tea, so it seemed a fitting scent for me. This polish is one of my favorites. My favorite color is red, and my favorite color combo is red and black. I have purchased several red and black polishes before, but this one is by far my favorite. I love the vampy, evil look it has. It reminds me of bizarre syfy movies. The name certainly fits the polish perfectly. The polish is a bright red jelly polish with black micro glitter, bar glitter and shred glitter.

I chose cranberry for this polish, mainly because of the color of the polish itself. The scent lasted several days and was quite pleasant. This polish is a medium pink crelly polish with gold, pink, purple, and burgundy glitter of various sizes. It requires several layers of top coat to make it smooth. I find this polish appeals to my girlie side. Since copper is my favorite color, I chose to receive a copper charm with the polish. This collection has a key shaped charm!

I chose sweet orange as the fragrance for this polish. I love orange so the fragrance is quite nice to me. This polish is hard to photograph accurately. In person, it appears the color of a chocolate milkshake, or what I like to call a "truffle" color, but photographs more coppery. It has large iridescent circle glitter, and purple, garnet, and fushia micro glitter. There is also a coppery shimmer to this polish, hence the coppery glow in photos. This polish requires several top coats to be smooth. I love the copper key charm that came with it!
