Holiday nails!

In the spirit of the holidays I thought I'd post my favorite holiday nail polishes for everyone!

I recently bought a few polishes from KBShimmer. As always the polishes are amazing! I get so many compliments on my nails when I wear her polishes (even from men!)

The first one is Candy Cane Crush. This polish is part of the Christmas collection, but it would also be good for Valentines Day and the Fourth of July (if you put it on top of blue polish.) Not only is the polish itself cute, but it is scented! Every time I wear it I just randomly start smelling my nails. I started doing it involuntarily. They smell like mint chip ice cream (mmmmm.) My friends were in awe of the smell! It's a clear polish with different sized hexagonal glitters in red and white. The polish part is a tad yellow due to the scented oils in it, so it might not work as well on white, but it works beautifully on other colors. I only had to use 1 layer of the polish followed by 1 or 2 layers of Sally Hansen's Insta Dry top coat to finish it off.

Culture shock - moving to Oregon...

I lived in Southern California my entire life. When my fiancee got into school in Oregon, we were both really excited for a change in scenery. Two years ago we packed up our things and moved to the Pacific Northwest, and have not looked back since.

Things are VERY different in Oregon. Things that are normally taboo in CA are normal in OR. For example, if you tried to talk to a stranger in CA, whether in the store or on the bus, you'd get the stink eye and silence. In OR, people will start up conversations with strangers all the time and divulge their deep secrets. Nothing seems to be TMI or inappropriate here. I had an old lady start telling me all about her sad life while I was waiting in line at the pharmacy. Being a Californian it was very awkward for me. There is an overabundance of friendliness here!

Meet my hairy children

Those who know me know that I love my dogs to death. They make me laugh daily. They are such weird little beasts. Since they are such a huge part of my life, I guess I should introduce them.

Meet Gryphon(dor). Yes I know that's not how you spell Gryffindor (I didn't pick the spelling, that is the work of my man.) We refer to him as Griffy mostly anyways. He's a little oaf with an identity crisis. We have compared him to a flea and a wallaby...mostly a flea cuz he can jump so freaking high (you should see his ham hocks for thighs.) Most of the time he can be seen doing this:

Veta's world

Welcome to my world everyone! This is a place where everything Veta comes together with no real theme or goal. This is just a compilation of things I love, things I hate, things that tickle me pink, lots of girly things,  stories about my dogs (I will probably write a lot about my crazy dogs,) stories of how men baffle me (and by men I mean my man), etc.

With that in mind, I leave you with this...
for an instant pick me up <---- (not my video.)
